Ten uses of aspirin on body

Have you ever wondered if aspirin can be used for anything other than to relieve pain and fever? Well, this common over-the-counter medication has a ton of surprising uses that most people don’t know about. Bright Side reveals 10 amazing things that aspirin can do for you.

1. Helps reduce acne

Aspirin helps calm acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Crush 2-3 uncoated aspirin pills, and mix them with lemon juice. Apply the mixture to the pimple, and let it sit for a couple of minutes before washing it off. Avoid using this paste before sun exposure.

2. Relieves insect bites

Aspirin can also help reduce swelling and soothe the itching caused by mosquito bites. Dampen an uncoated aspirin in a tablespoon of water, and apply it to the affected area for a few minutes.

3. Reduces skin spots

Aspirin contains a fat-soluble ingredient used in the production of lightening creams and skin cleansers. Mix 7 uncoated aspirin pills with 3 tablespoons of yogurt and 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply to your clean face, and leave the mask for 15 minutes. This facial treatment will leave your skin radiant and smooth. It provides a slight peel effect, reducing scars and stains and preventing your pores from getting clogged.

4. Keeps dandruff at bay

Dandruff ’snowflakes’ not only make your scalp itch but are also quite unsightly. To get rid of dandruff, wash your hair with 2 crushed aspirin pills mixed into your normal amount of shampoo.

5. Acts as an exfoliant

Aspirin is an excellent exfoliant to remove dead cells from the face. In addition, it helps to get rid of excessive oiliness and reduce the size of enlarged pores. Just mix it with water and leave for a few minutes. If you have sensitive skin, apply it carefully to avoid skin irritation.

6. Eliminates calluses on the feet

These tablets also help soften the soles and remove dead skin easily. Shred 7 aspirins and add half a tablespoon of lemon juice to form a paste. Apply the mixture on the soles of the feet, and cover with a warm cloth. Leave for 10 minutes, and then exfoliate the hard areas with pumice.

7. Repairs damaged hair

Your hair will also benefit from the use of aspirin. For healthy and shiny hair, dissolve a strip of aspirins in a cup of warm water and apply to clean hair. Leave for about 15 minutes, and then rinse.

8. Removes sweat stains from your clothes

Aspirin also serves to give new life to your clothes. Apply an aspirin pill dissolved in warm water to sweat stains, and leave overnight. Afterward, wash your clothes as usual and enjoy the result.

9. Removes soap scum in the bathtub

© Pixabay.com

If you don’t want soap scum to ruin the aesthetics of your bathtub, grind 5 aspirin pills and add them to your bath cleaning liquid. Sprinkle the whole area, leave for half an hour, and then you can easily remove all the dirt with a cloth.

10. Lengthens the life of flowers

© Pixabay.com

To make your fresh cut flowers last longer in their vase, add a crushed tablet of aspirin to the water. This trick works especially well for roses, making them last much longer and in better condition.

We suggest consulting your physician or dermatologist before trying these tips.

4 Natural tips for removing bed bugs

– 4 Natural tips for removing bed bugs

– They can affect you, making you see a doctor.

Bed bugs could be a big problem when your home is infested with it. You can be rest assured that they will get to places where you have never imagined it to be. They could under your cloths, in your beds, and they can have an effect on your health. Let’s now look at four natural ways to eradicate the bed bugs in your home.

1. Thyme
You may be surprised as to what thyme is doing in order to kill bed bugs. According to research, it has been gathered that it is used for medicinal as well as ornamental purposes. This one has a very soothing effect on the nerves and hence it could be inhaled in for a better sleep. For this purpose in the previous times thyme was kept underneath the pillow to inhale the aroma and have a better sleep then. Thyme is sold fresh and also in the dried form. Fresh thyme could no longer be refrigerated for more than 2 weeks.

Regarding its function to kill the bed bugs, it is believed that thyme is used to repel insects as well other little bugs.

Hence, it could used to move the bed bugs away from the place and not kill them because they are only the repellants.

2. Black Wall nuts
These black walnuts are used in traditional sweets during the season of fall holidays. These treats involve cakes, cookies, pies and fudge. Moreover they are also used in confectionary items, ice creams and other such items to add its distinctive and crunchy flavor.

If we look at it from health’s point of view, these contain proteins and unsaturated fatty acids. These unsaturated fatty acids include oleic acid etc which is good for health. Besides this these are also used as dyes to stain cars and sidewalks, porches etc.

Black walnuts are really good for the removing the bed bugs from the affected area. They work as insecticides as well as repellants for the bed bugs. Hence, one can easily use these and cause the bed bugs to repel easily.

3. Hot water
Yes, hot water has a way of getting all your cloths off the grid of bugs. In reality, the steam from the water can pill your skin, and can also do away with your creeping insects.

Bed bugs are tiny little brown coloured creatures found under the mattress or along the wooden frame of the bed. These tiny little creatures suck in the human blood like parasites and leaves marks with rashes.

These rashes could get too itchy and scratching them makes them more worse. There a few reasons why these bed bugs develop but there are a number of remedies to free the bed from them. These bed bugs are known for their breeding and multiplication rate and so once they area there it’s not that easy to remove them.

4. Sun light
The natural sunlight has a way of getting to kill all the bugs that may torment you daily. Try as much as possible to sun dry your cloths after washing. The natural sun call kill the bed bugs and all other insects.

When the days are hot and sultry, it feels better to stay at home rather than going out and melting ourselves away. Most of the times what we go through is feeling dehydrated and drained. This is what high beam of sun could do to an active human body. So, when we jump towards the more tiny creatures we can imagine how badly their minute bodies can get affected.

You can keep the mattress directly under the sunlight.

Keep it till the sun rays are at the highest peak.

You can put the mattress inside after that.

Keep on doing this practice for a time period of 7-10 days. This will help in killing the bedbugs almost completely.

How To DJ Your First Party

how_to_dj_laptop
If you’re young and live in a city, you probably know people who say they “DJ” or “spin.” These days, that tends to involve plugging a laptop into some sort of sound system.
To many of us out there dancing to whatever the person in the booth is spinning (or just enjoying or mocking the song choices), the question of how to stitch songs together into a one long, danceable groove remains one of life’s great party mysteries. How they get the beats and even some of the notes to line-up, so that one song fades into the next? It’s actually really easy these days, because computers are smarter than record players.
This summer, you might find yourself hosting at least one banger, and could be invited to many more. If you’d like to try your hand at spinning some tracks, even in low-pressure situations like a small house party, take advantage of the following demystification of DJing with a laptop or an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet.
All of the following programs are free — and so easy that the hardest part is choosing the tunes. Best of all, if you’re just trying to keep the party going and don’t necessarily want to spend the whole night behind the decks, most of them have an Automatic mode that keeps the cross-fades smooth as you freshen your beverage and mingle with friends.
First, we’ll cover the apps, then what you can do with them.

virtual dj homeVirtual DJ Home (Mac/Windows)

The free cousin of the paid Virtual DJ Pro, this computer app is the best (that we have found so far), most beginner-friendly DJ software that is available for free. Virtual DJ Home something of a standard, with an intuitive interface and features ranging from inserting pre-recorded samples to a ‘broadcast’ function that allows users to stream their sets over the web in real time. Are you not the type to throw a party? Well now you can invite your online friends to hear you spin, too.
Perhaps most importantly, its beat-matching feature, for syncing one track to fade cleanly into the next, is superior, with the ability to match the keys of the songs as well. (If you don’t like Virtual DJ Home for some reason, try the less robust CrossDJ or MIXXX, although the latter struggles a bit with beatmatching, and neither offers a key-matching Sync function.)

edjingEdjing (iOS/Android)

On your phone or tablet, edjing from DJiT offers a straightforward interface with smooth-running features and an in-app store for buying audio effects, which you might or might not need. We also appreciate the nice automix feature, because, as mentioned, nobody wants to stand behind a table for the entire night.
We chose edjing in part for its simplicity. If you’re looking for something a little more advanced, try meta.DJ (iOS), which offers drum and synth pads for playing along with the songs, and a cue function for pre-determining where tracks start playing. For Android, we like DJ Studio 5 as a  alternative to Edjing.

What You Need To Know

To use just about any DJ app or software, you need to grasp the following, at the very least.
The Decks: Each deck mimics the turntable where DJs of the (mostly) past used to place vinyl records. This is where you drag a song you want to play. You have two decks — one for each song, the one that is playing, and the one that is about to play.
Try dragging a song to either deck and pushing the Play button. In Virtual DJ, this means going to the menu in the lower-left, selecting your iTunes library, Music folder, or any other place where you store your music files, and simply dragging one onto deck. To queue up a track in edjing, select the music note logo next to the deck you want to use, then choose a song from music library viewer.
You can “scratch” the files as they play on the decks,  but this tends to be more of a gimmick, because a mouse or fingertip on a smartphone doesn’t offer the same level of control as spinning actual vinyl. Still, it can be fun.
Cues and the Sync Button: Now that you’ve played a song on the deck, it’s time to learn how to mix in another track. Ideally, in a party environment, you’d have some sort of reason for choosing to play the second song after the first song (sonic or otherwise), but if not, no big deal.
Drag this second song to the other deck. This is where Cue Points might come in, if you want to deal with those before the party. These tell the software where to start playing the second song. (For example, you might want to avoid a lengthy intro.) To do this, it’s best to use the waveform visualizer, so you can see where a song’s boring or quiet intro ends, and put the Cue Point right after that. The waveform visualizer can be found at the top of the screen in both Virtual DJ and edjing. You can set cues in Virtual DJ by pressing the numbered buttons on either deck at the moment you want to set the cue. Edjing has a cue function available for purchase in their in-app store.
Before you press Play on the second track, click the Sync button to set up the songs to fade together relatively seamlessly, then click the Play button on the second deck. If things sound a little off, press Sync again.
Crossfader: The crossfader determines the volume ratio between two tracks playing on the decks. Put simply: This represents how much of one song you can hear versus the other, as you transition from one track to the next. Slide the crossfader towards the deck you want to hear more from. If you don’t want to hear part of a song, simply pivot all the way towards the opposite deck.
Many DJs use the crossfader to fade in and out of songs in time with the music as a technique, but for the amateur DJ, the main point of the crossfader is to fade from one track to the next, while letting the software take care of beat- and pitch-matching.
Looping: Sometimes, you might want one section of a song to repeat, while another song plays over that. This technique is called looping. You can loop a a beat, a sixteenth note, or even one or more measures of a song. The diagrams below illustrate where the looping tool is located in Virtual DJ and in edjing (in the latter, it’s in the FX menu).

The essentials are highlighted in this diagram of the Virtual DJ (top) and edjing interfaces

Now What?

EDJING has awesome touchpad effects like flanger
You might be content just playing with the crossfader for smooth transitions between tracks, because that’s more than enough to keep a party flowing if you pick great music.
However, to take things to the next level, you might try spinning two songs at the same time, and playing around with effects. If you choose the latter, be aware that a thorough knowledge of the tracks you’re playing will give you a lot more artistic control over your mixes. Being well acquainted with the different parts of your songs (e.g. what drops where) allows you to work more effectively with effects and looping.
You might also want to look into software to organize your song library by key and time signature. Once you’ve done that, you can organize playlists of songs in the same key, or with similar time signatures, then you can access them directly in Virtual DJ. That way, you won’t have to rely as much on the Sync button to make the notes match up. Besides, playing songs in the same key or with similar time signatures helps your mixes sound more natural.
The stuff discussed in this section does not typically come for free. Of the pay-only options for sorting your library by key and tempo, Mixed In Key seems to be the most popular. Only one free option appears to exist – Rapid Evolution 3 from MixShare — is currently in a beta version.

MTN Wants Whatsapp & Viber Banned In Nigeria, Says Affecting Its Business

The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of MTN Nigeria, Mr. Ferdinand Moolman, has disclosed that the activities of ‘over-the-top’ companies like WhatsApp, Viber have adverse effects on its business and affects the sustainability of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.

Moolman stated this yesterday while highlighting factors affecting Nigeria’s telecommunications industry, at a hearing convened by Senate Committee on Communications. The hearing chaired by the vice-chairman of the committee, Adeola Olamilekan, was organised following the now suspended data tariff hike by the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC.

While identifying the factors, he said, “the depletion of operator revenues by unlicensed providers of “over-the-top” telecoms services who do not have any physical presence; nor pay any taxes; nor make any significant contribution to employment or other socio-economic objectives of government in Nigeria.”

Mentioning WhatsApp, Viber and the likes, the MTN boss pointed out that these companies were eroding gains of Nigeria’s telecom companies and asked Nigeria to take action like the United Arab Emirates did.

He identified another factor as the inability of operators to access foreign exchange, explaining that “this is particularly debilitating given that most of our inputs are sourced off-shore. This has very significantly increased both operating and capital expenses.”

Why We Re-arrested Fani-kayode – EFCC

WHY the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, re-arrested former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-kayode after he stepped out of a court room at Federal High Court Lagos, has emerged.
According to the EFCC, he would face fresh charges over new evidence that he collected huge cash directly from the embattled former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election and would be flown to Abuja for fresh interrogation
Saturday Vanguard quoting a top EFCC source, “we are going to move him to Abuja to answer fresh questions arising from the new evidence that he personally collected various sums of money from the ONSA”.
The amount allegedly collected by Fani-Kayode, according to the source is different from the N4.9 billion, which he and the former Finance Minister, Esther Nenadi Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Dimension Nig. Ltd., reportedly collected from the ONSA ahead of the presidential election.
The EFCC has already slammed a 17-count charge against them for taking the money from the public treasury and retaining same without rendering any verifiable service to the nation.
“There is a fresh case of various sums of money traced to the suspect, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the N4.9 billion case we instituted against him and others in Lagos.
“We arrested Fani-Kayode because we need him to explain to our operatives why he took the money and what he used it for. It is clear from the records before us that he received the money directly from the NSA.
“From the record before us, the suspect signed and collected the sum of N26 million for undisclosed purpose and we want him to explain to us why he took the cash in the first place,” the source said
At the resumed hearing of the charge against him in Lagos yesterday, the prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, opened his case and concluded the witness’ evidence for the day, while the court adjourned the case to November 14 and 15, 2016, for continuation of trial and rose.
Shortly after Fani-Kayode had walked out of court, two officers of the EFCC dressed in white kaftan, requested that he followed them to the commission’s office.
Immediately, the court’s gate was barricaded by a Toyota Hiace bus and Fani-Kayode was taken to the EFCC.
The Commission yesterday opened its case and called its first witness, Mr Idowu Olusegun.
Led him in evidence, the witness, who is media consultant with Paste Posters Company Ltd, told the court that N30 million was paid in cash to him, by the office of the Director of media and publicity, PDP campaign Organisation.
According to Olusegun, he had reached an agreement with the organisation whose office is situated at 14B, Samora Machel Avenue, Asokoro, Abuja, for the sum of N24m for media consultancy services. He said that a further negotiation was reached in which N50 would be paid for each size of A2 posters, while N20 would be paid for each size of A4 flyers.
The witness told the court that after the printing job for the posters and flyers was done, he was invited to the office of the organisation and given N30 million in cash.
He further told the court that he had demanded to know why payment was made in cash and was informed by one Mr Oke, that cash was the approved means of payment.
He said that Mr Oke had been the person communicating with him throughout the pendency of his engagement to do the media jobs.
The witness added that apart from the N30 million paid to him, there was also an outstanding payment of N24m which was not paid to his company.
After his testimony and based on agreements of counsel, the court fixed November 14 and 15 for continuation of trial.
Meanwhile, a mild drama played out in court during his trial yesterday when the trial judge, Justice Sule Hassan, ordered the seizure of the mobile phone of Fani-kayode.
According to Premium Times, the accused had held his phones and suddenly, the phone rang out loud and the judge asked: “Who is doing that? ” He ordered the court’s registrar to seize the phones.
Similarly, the trial judge also issued a warning to counsel representing the accused, when he sighted him sipping from a bottled water during proceedings.
The judge had warned counsel to seek the permission of the court, whenever, his client was pressed for water.
According to Hassan “The court is not a market place, there must be order and sanity.”

FG bans purchase and distribution of bags & T-shirts at government workshops and conferences

The Federal Government has banned the purchase and distribution of conference bags, T-shirts and other souvenirs at events such as Conferences and Seminars funded by Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Director of Information, Federal Ministry of Finance, Salisu Dambatta today July 31st.

“The directive which is a recognition of the fact that in a period of lean financial resources unnecessary expenditure on overheads such souvenirs are luxuries that the government must eliminate.

This will enable release of funds for infrastructure and services such as health and education that would have direct positive impact on the well being of the citizenry and promote economic development. The directive also contained specific guidelines that would reduce the cost of printing Invitation Cards, Programme of events, Brochures, Folders and Note Pads. Fani-Kayode: Nigeria's 3rd Mahdi & Last Of Amalekite Kings

NIGERIA'S THIRD MAHDI AND THE LAST OF THE AMALEKITE KINGS

Forgive me for my curious silence over the last few months but this was due to circumstances beyond my control.

As you know I was locked up in President Buhari's gulag and I was not allowed to write from there.

Needless to say I missed all my readers. I have chosen to share my views about our nation today because I am aware of the fact that President Buhari has not finished with me yet and I may be picked up and thrown into detention on other trumped up charges very soon. This government will do and say anything to silence my voice but they shall not prevail.

Whatever the case my safety, life and future lies in the hands of God and not theirs. Despite the obvious dangers and various warnings that I have received from both my persecutors and well-wishers I shall continue to write as long as God gives me life and liberty.

It is not what happens to me that matters but rather what happens to Nigeria and the millions of ordinary people that are suffering in our country from the daily oppression of our modern-day slave masters. That aside, permit me to share my views.

A couple of weeks ago a 73 year old Christian grandmother was beheaded in Kano because she asked some muslims to stop washing their feet in front of her door before their prayers.

A few days later a female pastor of the Redeemed Church of God was hacked to pieces by a mob of muslims in the Kubwa district of Abuja simply for doing her morning cry of evangelism and urging the people to give their lives to Christ.

Not too long after that two hundred muslim youths burnt down a Catholic Church and attacked worshippers in Niger state claiming that they had no right to go to church on a friday because it was the muslim day of worship.

A few days later a Christian traditional ruler in Plateau state was matcheted to death by a group of Muslim militants and Fulani herdsmen.

Such attacks are now common place in our country and they are no longer isolated events.
Worse still cases of institutional racism and religious bigotry are on the rise because our government appears to be encouraging it. Permit me to share one example.

During my prolonged detention at the EFCC a group of cell mates were conducting an all night christian prayer. All of a sudden the cell guards burst in and screamed at them saying that this "nonsense" must stop and they must go to sleep immediately.

The inmates complied sheepishly out of fear and the prayers stopped. It was one a.m. in the morning. I was in the opposite set of cells but I heard all the noise and warnings of the guards.

I sent for one of them and I asked him why he stopped the inmates from doing an all night prayer. His response was that that was efcc policy because the prayers were too loud and they may be planning an escape. I told him that all he had to do was to ask them to lower their voices.

And that God and prayer was all they had. I also told him that if the inmates that were praying
were muslims he would not have ordered them to stop. He stormed off in anger.

The efcc has become a tool of oppression in the hands of the core muslim north who are using it to crush dissent and silence the opposition.

This assertion is confirmed by the fact that 98 per cent of those that are detained be the efcc for 2 days or more are southerners and middle belters whilst 98 per cent of those that run the agency at the top are from the core muslim north.

Worse still the lingua franca of the agency is hausa whilst the overwhelming majority of detainees are christians both in Lagos and Abuja. Core northern detainees are treated like royalty whilst Middle Belt and southern inmates are treated like filth.

Just as the Nigerian military was an institution that was designed and used to suppress and intimidate all the so-called lesser ethnic groups in Nigeria between july 29th 1966 and May 29th 1999 so it is with the EFCC today.

That is how emboldened the hegemonists in our midst have become and that is the level of barbarity that we have descended to as a nation.

Yet it gets even worse. Just a few weeks ago, the Minister of Internal Affairs told a bewildered nation that the Sultan of Sokoto (the leader if rhe Muslim community in Nigeria) "directed" him to declare a particular day of the week a public holiday. Without any hesitation he complied with despatch and, with pride, he announced it to the public. Welcome to the Islamic Republic of Nigeria where the caliphate rules.

Is it any wonder that every single one of the numerous security and intelligence agencies in our country except for one is headed by a northerner?

Whether it be the army, the navy, the air force, the police, the Department of State Security (DSS), the EFCC, the National Securiry A'dvisor's Office or the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), they are all headed by individuals that are from the north.

The only exception to the rule is the Nigerian Iintelligence Agency (NIA), the agency which is responsible for external intelligence and international espionage and which is headed by a southerner.

Can such a state of affairs be justified under any circumstances? Are southerners and Chrustians not Nigerians as well? Are they not qualified to head more security agencies?

Does the concept of Federal Character have any meaning in President Buhari's Nigeria? For how much longer will our people tolerate such reckless impunity, racism and injustice from those who believe that they are the Boers and supremacists of what is fast turning into apartheid-Nigeria?

My father's generation fought the battle for independence from our erstwhile British colonial masters.

It was indeed my father, Chief Remilekun Fani-Kayode, that succesfully moved the motion for Nigeria's indepence in Parliament in 1958.

The battle that must be fought today by my genertion is the battle for independence from the sons of Futa Jalon: our internal colonial masters who are relentless in their quest to subjugate and enslave others and who believe that they were born to rule.

This quest for expansion and domination and this insatiable desire to islamise our nation is best reflected by the words and actions of the three Mahdis of the north.

The first was Usman Dan Fodio, the second was his great grandson Sir Ahmadu Bello and the third is Muhammadu Buhari. The hegemonists must be stopped. It is our duty to either restructure or break Nigeria and to ensure that Buhari is the last of the northern Mahdis through a peaceful and democratic process.

Consequently the prayer is no longer "God bless Nigeria" but rather "God break Nigeria". It is no longer "God defend Nigeria" but rather "God restructure Nigeria". It is no longer "God deliver Nigeria" but rather "God deliver us from Nigeria".

It is no longer "God preserve Nigeria" but rather "God redefine Nigeria". It is no longer "God remember Nigeria" but rather "God dismember Nigeria".

We must break our chains of oppression because no one else will break them for us. We must reject slavery. We must rise up and resist our oppressors.

We must break the yoke of servitude and set ourselves free. For this great cause no price is too high to pay. If it means laying down our lives or suffering the bitter pain of persecution then so be it.

No price is too high to pay and no mounatain is too high to climb for attainment of freedom and the restoration of our self respect and collective dignity. No matter what it takes we shall carve out and build our own nation and we shall be free.

The heavy yoke of the last of the Amalekite kings must be broken. The rulership of the third and last Mahdi must be brought to an end in a free and fair election. That is the challenge that we face today.

That is the great work that the Lord would have us complete. That is our duty and our calling: to bring the unbelieving pagans to heel and to pull down the evil structures of caliphate power.

Those that joined forces with the internal colonial masters and helped to enslave their own people shall pay a heavy price for their treachery, collaboration and betrayal.

Our new nation has no room for such people. They will be herded into labour camps and ultimately deported. They are a shameful eyesore: animals with no sense of dignity and pride. They are not fit to live amongst us.

Yet blessed are the courageous and faithful who speak nothing but truth, who despise the oppressor and who champion the cause of the oppressed. They shall flourish like the palm tree in season and their seed shall excel.

Blessed are those that are persecuted for their faith and that are regarded as the "hewers of the wood and the drawers of the water": so-called ethnic inferiors in their own nation.

They shall inherit the land and, in the fullness of time, they shall be liberated from their tormentors and they shall rule over their adversaries.

That is the promise of the Alpha and the Omega and the Ancient of Days. That is a sure word from He that is known as the Lord God of Hosts and the Man of War. That is the counsel of the God of All Flesh: the Adonai, the Elohim and Jehova El Shaddai. None can resist Him.

SALARY: Hope no state will claim economic recession is the reason they can't pay salaries.(Big July FG Allocation)

BREAKDOWN OF FEDERAL ALLOCATION TO THE
VARIOUS STATES FOR THE MONTH OF JULY
2016 BY FAAC
Thirty-six states of the Federation and the
Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, collectively
smiled home in the month of July when they
pocketed a whopping N673.324billion as their
share of statutory allocation and first tranche of
the excess crude earnings distribution for the
period.
This was revealed in a document from the office
of the Accountant-General of the Federation
titled: Distribution of Statutory Allocation and
Excess Crude Proceeds to the three tiers of
Government in July 2016, a copy of which
THISDAY got yesterday.
The report showed that five of the states: Rivers,
Bayelsa, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Kano, catapulted
themselves to the two-digits wrung with each
carting home between N10 billion and N25 billion.
Similarly, Nasarawa and Ekiti States received
N4.508 billion and N4.732 billion respectively.
Other states which also got huge amounts from
the distribution include: Ondo with
N9,060,035,806.15 Lagos state got
N8,299,806,965.06 Kaduna state got
N7,654,995,396.83 Imo state got N7,366,417,410.
84 Borno state got N7,276,602,098.96 Niger state
got N7,151,791,231.47 Jigawa state got
N7,048,660,361.35
Leading the pack, Rivers state got a grand total
of N25,883 billion which is made up of N10.138
billion from 13 per cent derivation, N12.803 billion
from excess crude, N1.39 billion from statutory
allocation and another N1.5 billion excess crude
for local governments in the state.
Similarly, Bayelsa state received N7.97 billion
from the 13 per cent derivation account as well
as N10 billion from excess crude account. The
state also had its accounts credited to the tune
of N538 million for its councils and another
N597.7 million excess crude for the same councils
in the state.
In total, the state smiled home with a whooping
grand total of N19,197,410,863.92. In the same
vein, Delta State which garnered a total of
N18.622billion, had its share broken down thus:
13 per cent derivation N6.977 billion; excess
crude N8.734 billion; statutory allocation for local
governments N1.379 billion and excess crude
distribution to the councils N1.531 billion.
According to finance ministry officials, what is
being paid as proceeds of the difference between
the budgeted volume short fall from a current
Niger Delta situation where Nigeria is only
producing about 2 million barrels of crude oil per
day instead of the OPEC allocation of 2.5 barrels
per day matched against excess earnings of over
70 dollars per barrel when the budgeted reference
price is 35 dollars.
THISDAY checks reveal that this is the first of
such payments as states will continue to enjoy
this windfall over the next several months. The
fourth highest beneficiary and another oil
producing state of the Niger Delta, Akwa Ibom,
has its breakdown as follows: statutory allocation
N6.458 billion, excess crude distribution N8.065
billion, statutory allocations for state councils
N1.569 billion while the excess crude account for
councils was credited with a whopping N1.738
billion. In total, the state got N7,831,804,082.85.
The only non-oil producing state that garnered
over #10 billion was Kano. It got N10.776 billion
and was distributed as follows: statutory
allocation N2.44 billion; excess crude N2.7 billion,
statutory allocation for its 44 councils, N2.669
billion and excess crude to same accounted for
N2.959 billion.
Conversely, the FCT, Gombe, Ebonyi, Nasarawa
and Ekiti States went home with the least
allocations of between N73.3 million and N4
billion . While the document further showed that
the FCT got its accounts credited to the tune of
N673.324 million, Gombe State became richer
with M4.435 billion lumped into its accounts.

Plot to overthrow Buhari: DSS arrests alleged mastermind

The Department of State Security Service, DSS, yesterday, unveiled the Niger Delta militant, who allegedly  threatened to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari and bomb key public institutions, including Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja. The service, in a statement  by Tony Opuiyo, gave the name of the suspect as Jones ABIRI,  aka General Akotebe DARIKORO, who was arrested in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. DSS described  DARIKORO as the leader of the Joint Revolutionary Council of the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF), which, according to it, has been orchestrating “separatist tendencies in connivance with other criminal gangs in the Niger Delta region”. The agency said  DARIKORO, “who operates under the pseudo name of  General-Kill and Bury”, had confessed to some criminal activities committed by the  NDLF,” including the vandalism of Nigeria Agip Oil Company (NAOC) trunk line in Ogboinbiri, Southern Ijaw LGA and bombing of oil pipeline belonging to Shell Development Company (SPDC) at Brass creek on 8th July, 2016, all in Bayelsa State”. Other atrocities said to have been committed by the suspect include issuance of threat messages to managements of NAOC and SPDC demanding for the payment of  N500m and N250m respectively, and threatening to launch missile attacks against selected targets in Abuja including the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock. It  said DARIKORO is also the mastermind of the recently circulated hoax of planned overthrow of  BUHARI and his administration. “ Similarly, on 21st July 2016, one Stephen MAMAYEBO, aka OSCAR, a suspected militant was arrested at OMPADEC Primary School in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. During his arrest, the sum of One Million Naira, three (3) laptops, ten (10) different mobile phones, and other incriminating items were recovered from him. “ On 17th July, 2016, at Idi-Mango Ore area in Odigbo LGA of Ondo State, one Esan Abiodun CHRISTOPHER aka MAIYEGUN was arrested by this Service.
